Yesterday was Blogger day! I felt it was important to post some content for today as i’ve now nearly been doing this half of my life (I ran a successful lifestyle blog posting 3 times a week for many years before I ran this blog; now I choose to focus on creating re-sharable instagram infographic style content with writing long form posts on the side on this site and for other companies and charities). Whatever form I create in, i’m still a blogger, so that’s why I wanted to share both on here and instagram today, certifying my role as a blogger and taking this chance to re-introduce myself: blogger style.
Re-introducing myself ‘blogger style’ really means cutting the shit about my life nobody needs to know from a blogging perspective. It’s taking the reigns and focusing on my niche and how that relates to me as a person, so what are the main things you need to know about my blog, relating to me?
- I am a Curve model and Freelance Writer
- I’m Disabled and Queer
- I have c-PTSD and AuDHD
- I’m a Disney adult and Disneyland Paris Gold Annual Pass Holder
- I cover the topics of cosy and dopamine living (and dressing)
- I love beauty and skincare
- If I had to choose a general category for my blog it would be Lifestyle.
Modelling

I’ve been a part of the industry for about a year and a half now and it’s just something I sort of fell into. I started booking jobs with different companies who were happy to have a disabled, plus sized model on their books and voila! It’s not my main hustle, I’m chronically ill so I don’t have the spoons to do it a lot really but I do it when I can and I’m always grateful to book a job. Anyone who is interested in booking me for a job, if you like what you see and are interested in more, my portfolio can be found here and if you would like to book me please email LBCURR@OUTLOOK.COM with the details.
Freelance Writer
I’ve been focusing on my career as a writer for the past couple of years. I obviously do a lot of blogging in long and short forms to fill up my time, but also like to focus on my writing work for charities primarily. I also will write for anyone else who requires my services if and when it comes up, and I write reviews of people, places and things, too! (okay, not so much people, but you get me – I just mean ANYTHING!)
I’m Disabled
I’m Disabled and because of that I write and post a lot of content focusing around disability, whether that is on instagram (posts or stories) or on my blog. I have an absolute multitude of disabilities and chronic illnesses including the grand old Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Co, Functional Neurological Disorder and the non-epileptic seizures that come with it, CFS/ME which has absolutely ruled my life at varying severities over the past 13 years, and so much more – that’s not even near half the list! I also use a wheelchair and have an indwelling foley catheter so at 27, yes, I am medically complex and I’ve heard it all before.

So, is that why I post about disability? Because I am disabled?
Well, yes and no. The reason I post about it is because it’s SO important to be made aware of disabilities and chronic illnesses, and becoming disabled opened my eyes to all of this. Had I not become disabled, I wouldn’t have known all the things you need to become aware of and I feel like able bodied people need to be aware of these too. And this doesn’t just include awareness of the chronic illnesses themselves – this includes things like Disability Pride, the importance of Disability Fashion, Disability Inclusion and Disability community.
Queerness
As a queer person, it is so important to me to share my queer identity. I identify as a Non-Binary Lesbian and sharing that identity with the world means a lot to me. It also means a lot to me to raise awareness of what a Non-Binary Lesbian is and teach them that too, and that is so important to me. My pronouns are They/Them and I am so proud to say I’ve been educating about pronouns for years, ever since I started using ‘They’ pronouns at all, as when I used ‘She/They’ I used my platform to educate about mixed pronouns, but of course my main focus when talking about pronouns is educating about pronouns under the trans umbrella (of which, though not as a trans person, I now do identify as a trans non-binary person).
I have c-PTSD
(and other mental health issues). I am one traumatised diva, and I am working through my recovery journey from my said traumas. I want to share my recovery as i’m going through it because I want to show other people in the same boat as me that it’s going to be okay. I thought the hellscape of my trauma was never going to end but I’m growing and growing and recovering every single day so that’s why i’m sharing my journey. The same applies for my other mental health issues, really; I’m so proud I recovered from my ED and I just want to show other people deep in bad bad ED brain that it is possible. I also want to share reminders of things like all food is good food, all bodies are good bodies and share my own now newly (well, post ED) developed body positivity (and encourage even neutrality for those who positivity is hard for).
I’m AuDHD
Yes, I’m neurodivergent! I am autistic and have suspected ADHD – this means my brain processes the information as well as the whole general world differently. I personally primarily find myself having symptoms of sensory difficulties, as well as social difficulties and emotional intensity. I also find being AuDHD puts me in an internal tug-of-war as some of my symptoms of autism clash with the ADHD side of me.
I’m a Disney Adult

…and DLP Gold Annual Pass Holder! We are frequent flyers to Disneyland Paris and honestly, getting a gold annual pass was the absolute DREAM to me! My number one life goal is to visit all 12 Disney parks so having an AP to one is a pretty good start!
You’ll also hear me talking non-stop about the ride It’s A Small World – that ride is my absolute favourite and I’ve basically made it my personality! If I see something Small World, I have to buy it – my favourite purchase being my very expensive Stoney Clover jacket which is safe in my wardrobe until it makes it’s outing in November! I cannot wait! It is lush! I also love my Little Emporium of Magic dress – i’ve planned an outfit around them both.
I cover cosy hobbies and cosy living
I love all things cosy – if you want to know my favourite season, it’s autumn, and I think that speaks for itself as that is cosiness through and through. I’m so excited shops are already stocking autumn products and yes, I have had a raid. I can give you cosy homeware, cosy lifestyle (I love documenting my wives lives with my one and only, Em – aka the personal aspects and home life of my marriage with my beautiful wife, Emma.
As well as covering home comforts, I cover cosy hobbies; this includes video gaming, board gaming, scrapbooking, penpalling, colouring, arts and crafts, baking and more!
I cover dopamine living
This is like cosy living, but brighter! I love all things rainbow, all things glitter, all things bright, so anything that helps bring joy to my living space is the perfect example of dopamine living! We have a huge sunshine tapestry and our duvet sets always scream joy whether it’s centred around our special interests or bright colours, and we have so many trinkets too!
I also think dopamine living is covered when I talk about my joyous hobbies – swimming brings me so much joy, as does penpalling and this is true dopamine living.

…and dopamine dressing!
Dopamine dressing is one of the things that brings me the most joy in the world. As a fat, disabled person we are told that we are meant to feel a certain negative way about our bodies and that we shouldn’t fit in but in dopamine dressing I learned to love my body and fell in love with alternative styles of clothing. This helped me learn who I truly was through my true style and also got me into modelling through amazing brands such as Rebel Romance and Topsy Curvy.
I love beauty and skincare
I have always loved make-up and especially being creative with make-up and creating bright looks, and on top of that I really enjoy skincare (when I actually have the spoons to do it). I do a lot of PR work and my main PR centres around beauty and skincare so I love creating such content
I’m a Lifestyle blogger!
The main blogging category that I’d say I fall into is lifestyle! I honestly blog about anything and everything, from health to chit chat about coffee shops and the hottest matcha flavours (though I like it iced), bookish content, all things fashion and beauty, to journalling content and all and anything Disney – and that’s not the half of it! Lifestyle covers a lot and that’s why i’ve always liked that as a primary label for my blog. But i’m always happy to list the million things I chit chat about if asked!
So I hope you enjoyed this re-introduction. Maybe I gained some new faces. Maybe some old faces learned some new facts or remembered why they followed in the first place.
Is there anything you’d like to see from me? Either under these categories or completely new! Let’s go out of my comfort zone today of all days!
Love always,
Laur xxx
